Our Library Thrives With Volunteers Like you

A woman and a boy reading a book in a library, surrounded by bookshelves filled with books.

Contribute your time and talents to the Peachtree City Library and to Friends’ programs. Each new volunteer receives a personal orientation tour of the library. Each year, more than 80 volunteers, Friends, and others contribute more than 2,000 hours to the library and its patrons.

Tasks include:

  • Shelving circulating books, DVDs, and CDs

  • Emptying the book drop

  • Packing/opening interlibrary shipments

  • Scanning shelves for errors in book placement

  • Calling patrons to inform them of hold books

  • General office tasks

A volunteer application can be downloaded here and turned into the library circulation desk or emailed to ptc.library.vols@gmail.com.

Volunteers must be 14 years or older. Those who are accepted will receive three hours of training in two sessions that will include an orientation session as well as task-specific, hands-on-training. Applicants will be contacted by email to schedule training.
