Dr. James Tabor Captivates Audience at Trilith
A large crowd filled The Shipyard at Trilith on Tuesday evening for a thought-provoking author event featuring Dr. James D. Tabor (www.jamestabor.com), noted biblical scholar and author of The Lost Mary: Rediscovering the Mother of Jesus (Knopf, 2025).
Guests arrived early to enjoy a cash bar reception, catching up with friends and fellow readers before the evening’s program began. Before Dr. Tabor took the stage, the audience was treated to a compelling introductory video narrated by Morgan Freeman, offering an intriguing preview of the book’s exploration into one of history’s most iconic—and misunderstood—figures.
When Dr. Tabor began his presentation, he guided attendees through the archaeological discoveries and historical insights that shaped The Lost Mary. Drawing on decades of academic work, he showed how new evidence continues to redefine our understanding of Mary’s life and influence in the early Christian movement.
Following his presentation, Peachtree City Library Director Jill Prouty joined Dr. Tabor for a dynamic audience Q&A, where guests engaged with questions ranging from historical analysis to theological interpretation.
The evening concluded with a book signing, where attendees had the opportunity to meet Dr. Tabor and take home an autographed copy of his latest work.
The Friends of the Peachtree City Library were proud to co-host this memorable evening in partnership with Scholar & Scribe Bookshop and the Peachtree City Library. The event marked another successful installment in the Friends’ ongoing efforts to bring acclaimed authors and meaningful literary experiences to the local community.
The Friends look forward to hosting more engaging author events in the near future.
