Books & Brews Brings Community Together in Support of the Peachtree City Library
The Friends of the Peachtree City Library hosted a lively evening of music, food, and fun at Books & Brews, held Thursday, October 23 at Line Creek Brewing Co. The community turned out in great numbers to support the library and celebrate National Friends of the Library Week.
Local favorite Butch Watson kept the energy high with live music throughout the night, while Rolling Smoke BBQ served up crowd-pleasing meals that sold out before the evening ended. Families also enjoyed sweet treats from the TCBY Mobile Frozen Yogurt Truck, which was a hit with kids and adults alike.
The Friends of the Library were thrilled by the community’s enthusiasm and generosity—signing up five new members and raising over $500 during the event. Proceeds from Books & Brews, along with $1 from every pint sold, will directly benefit the Peachtree City Library by funding children’s and adult programming and supporting upcoming library events.
“Seeing so many people come out to enjoy the evening and support the library was truly inspiring,” said Carl Hoverstad, President of the Friends of the Peachtree City Library. “Events like this remind us what a special community we have here in Peachtree City and how much our library means to everyone.”
The Friends also offered a small selection of books from their ongoing Used Book Sale, encouraging guests to visit the larger collection available year-round inside the library near the back reference desk. Donations of gently used books, CDs, DVDs, and audiobooks are always welcome, with all proceeds helping fund library programs and services.
The Friends of the Peachtree City Library extend their gratitude to Line Creek Brewing Co., Rolling Smoke BBQ, TCBY, and the entire community for making the evening such a success.
